"Yesterday's Memories, Today's Treasures"

About Us

On May 18, 2005, we lost a close friend, whom we had known for 30 years.  Meeting in high school, we had become best friends through college, work, and children.  She left behind 4 great boys and a wonderful husband.  As the family shared her favorite things to keep her memory alive, Bridgit was given a collection of clothing to make the boys quilts.  What a wonderful way to remember their mother forever.

That same year, Bridgit and Katrina, started Memories & Sew Much More.  What started as a desire to bring comfort to children, family and friends who had lost a loved one blossomed into an endeavor to celebrate the special people and events in our lives.

Meet Bridgit and Katrina

Bridgit received a BS in Computer Science from North Carolina State University (Go Wolfpack!).  Following graduation from college, she worked in ‘corporate America’ for over 20 years where she received several prestigious awards and presented papers at both national and international conferences.

Bridgit began sewing and quilting over 30 years ago.  She has always had an interest in sewing and quilting, as well as many other arts and crafts.  Bridgit completed her first quilt while she was in high school, hand piecing and hand quilting a double bed size Log Cabin quilt.  She took her first quilting class while she was in college at Etc Crafts in Cary, NC.  For the next 30 years she made quilts for family, friends, and charities.  As she became more proficient, she began teaching sewing and quilting classes to children and adults.  Bridgit has been recognized at the state level with numerous awards for the quilts she has designed and made.  Bridgit is a member of the Capital Quilter’s Guild, the American Sewing Guild, the American Quilter’s Society and the International Quilt Association.

Katrina received a BS in Biology from the University of North Carolina (Go Tarheels!).  Following graduation from college, she worked in academia for over 15 years.  During her career her work was published in several national and international scientific journals, as well as presented at national and international conferences.

Having recently won awards for dance, baking, oil painting, stitchery and quilting, Katrina has been interested in various arts since she was young.  She is an accomplished Irish Dancer, having received numerous awards.  Her interest in needlework includes cross stitch, needlepoint, hand embroidery and knitting.  These crafts have earned her regional and state recognition.  Katrina has been involved in genealogy for 15 years, this interest allows her to help her clients preserve their memories in various fiber art forms.  She is a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America and the National Genealogical Society.
